One of the ways that helps in beating the mission is to actually just run past the initial harbingers until you get up the ramp. The more harbingers you defeat, the harder the groups of constantly-spawning margonites will be. Therefore, hold off on killing the harbingers until the ones right before the harbinger of nightfall.
